Hey friend,
It’s so good to be back.
The past few weeks have been a whirlwind - one of those seasons where your body shows you just how human you are. I was itching to write, but there was no inspiration. There were nights I’d lie awake thinking, “I need to check-in. I need to send a letter.” But the truth is, I was extremely exhausted and close to burnout. So, I decided to pause and take a break from writing. In that stillness, the lord renewed my strength like that of the eagles. I’m truly grateful to God for sustaining me and teaching me the importance of “REST”.
While I was away, over 40 new subscribers joined us. That’s not just a number, it’s 40 beautiful souls who’ve said yes to the journey of becoming. So, if you're new here, welcome home. This is more than a newsletter; it’s a safe space. A Community of people who are choosing to become all God had in mind when He created them.
It’s important to know that the journey is not always a pretty or linear path. Sometimes it’s filled with joy and light. Other times, it feels like stumbling through the dark. There are seasons of laughter, then seasons of tears. Moments when you’re full of faith and others when you’re not even sure what you believe anymore. And that’s okay. Because in all of it, we’re becoming. And we’re not doing it alone. We’re walking hand in hand, reminding one another that even in the confusion, even in the stillness… “God is near”.
The purpose of On Becoming is simple;
To remind you that you’re allowed to grow at your pace and enjoy every aspect of your journey.
That grace is still available even when you’re unsure.
That you don’t have to have it all figured out to still be in God’s plan.
Becoming isn’t a destination. It’s a daily decision to evolve, to surrender, to align and step into who God has called you to be in every season. Sometimes, you’re soaring. Other times, you’re crawling. But either way, you’re moving forward and deeper into who God says you are.
The Bible says,
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” - Jeremiah 1:5
It also says,
“All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” - Psalm 139:16
This means that you’re not a coincidence and your life is not random. God crafted you with intention. Every moment, every season; He saw it before you lived it. So, to truly understand who you must become in every season of your life, you must go to your creator and seek clarity on this.
Let’s make it more practical.
A Simple Analogy
Think about the last phone you bought. It came with a user manual, right? A booklet that explains what the phone can do, how it works, and how to get the best out of it. Today, we even have YouTube tutorials and step-by-step guides that further clarify the phone’s functionality.
Because the manufacturer created the phone, they know the product best. They are responsible for defining two key things:
Identity – What the product is.
Purpose – Why the product was created and what the product can do.
Now, imagine trying to figure out how to use the phone without ever referring to the manual or the creator’s instructions. You’ll probably misuse it or worse, never tap into its full potential.
That’s exactly how it is with us. God our “Creator” has given us the “Bible” as our life “Manual”. In Him, we find our identity, understand our purpose, and receive wisdom & guidance for every season. God knows what your becoming should look like. He knows what you need to function effectively in your current phase, and He has detailed blueprints for every step of your life.
The Bible says;
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”Proverbs 3:5-6
You don’t have to figure it all out on your own. Your Creator is not distant. He is near, and He desires to guide you.
So, What Now?
As we continue this journey together, I want you to do three (3) things this week:
Pause and pray: Ask God to help you see yourself through His eyes and reveal what this current season of becoming requires from you.
Reflect and journal: What has God been teaching you lately? What season are you in (waiting, healing, building, learning)? Ask him for renewed strength to go through your current season. *Let the Holy Spirit guide you in understanding it*
Read Psalm 139 slowly: Take your time with it. Don’t rush. Let every word remind you that you are deeply known, deeply loved, and never alone.
Dear friend, the journey to becoming won’t always make sense. But it will always be worth it especially when we trust the One who authored our days before they ever began.
Thank you for being here and growing with me. You are becoming and that is a beautiful thing.
With Love,
Perpetua
